Hello everyone my name is Erika Guilford. I live in Southfield, Michigan with my wonderful husband of 14 years. We have 3 children, Donovan(12), Kayla(11) and Christopher(2). I've been a teacher for 14 years and I work for Detroit Public Schools(4th grade). I am taking this class so that I can implement more meaningful lessons for my students. I want them actively involved with technology. I want to expand their minds and create life-long thinkers. I am very eager to get started!!!

ReplyDelete4th grade is my favorite grade. I have worked as a substitute teacher and always enjoyed 4th graders. I like the way their minds work. Technology is so critical to children. It prepares them for what is to come as they advance through school, onto college and into the work world.

It's always interesting to hear elementary teachers discuss a favorite grade. At the secondary level, it's not as clear cut. Often our courses are mixed grade levels. Sure, younger students show some immaturity, but in the end, you often forget who's in 10th or 12th grade. Welcome!
